Slot Recovery

Overview

Platform slots are of high value to operators. Recognizing this, Fastorq has made the commitment to provide the necessary equipment to remove old conductor casing and inner strings of casing cemented together, quickly and safely. Fastorq has developed the equipment and has the experience to cold-cut and drill holes in multiple strings of, cemented together, casing into manageable lengths prior to laying down at the surface. We use drill presses, mounted upon the outside of the casing to drill and pin together multiple strings which may or may not be completely grouted together. Once the hole is drilled the drill press is removed and the pin is placed to provide an effective but temporary lifting device. Then multiple strings of casing are cut in a length that the lifting equipment can handle. This operation is repeated until all old casing is removed and the slot is clear and available for the operator to begin his drilling program. We are committed to procedural review and as a result have made improvements to equipment and procedure which have made for the safe and efficient removal of multiple casing strings.

Drilling a 1 1/2" to 6" hole through the pipe and pinning prevents the inner strings from falling out in case of loose and weak cement. The pin then can be used as a lifting device to pull the string to the next cut level.
